The Adventures of Tintin and the Land of Black Gold

As Nayan, the wonder boy from the story "Nayan Rahasya" by Satyajit Ray comes out safe and sound in the climax, Feluda, the iconic private detective smiles slightly since it is he who has ensured the safety of the boy, while the audience heaved sighs of relief and cries of joy. Nevertheless leaving the world of Feluda and entering Tintin's does not really alter the feeling of anticipation since Tintin almost does something similar in the story "Land of the Black Gold". The story revolves around Tintin investigating contaminated petrol which if used does not only cause explosion in cars, but in any simple object like lighters as well. The victim being the Thomson twins themselves informs Tintin about these mysterious eruptions. Being a passionate and an unofficial detective Tintin launches into his own investigation which leads him to a ship called Speedol Star. Soon with the Thomson twins, they reach a country of the Middle East, Khemed trying to unveil the truth. However, all three of them are framed, arrested and taken for interrogation as soon as they land. The plot is twisted at this point by Hergé (1972) when an informer of a subversive Bab- El- Ehr abducts Tintin in the hope that he would provide beneficial information. Nonetheless Tintin manages to escape when he passed out due to exhaustion and was presumed dead. .
As Tintin with his dog, Snowy attempts to find some shelter and food he comes across an old nemesis, Dr. Muller, incapacitating an oil pipeline. Dr. Muller tries to kill Tintin but he gets away yet again and reconciles with the Thomson twins. Together they reach Khemed's capital city and Tintin recounts the mutilation of the oil pipeline by Dr. Muller to the Emir Mohammad Ben Kalish Ezab. The Emir knows Dr. Muller as Professor Smith and is in fact being manipulated by Muller to take in a certain proposal regarding oil supplies. As Tintin unravels the true nature of Dr.
