Summary of The Jilting of Granny Weatherall

Cornelia is Granny daughter and at the time when Granny was sick Cornelia was annoying her because she was talking about her sickness right in front of her and also about other times that her mother spanked her. Cornelia had a big impact on granny life she was her care taker and she loved her mother and she was devastated from her death. At the beginning Granny was on so many medications she couldn't interrupt what was actually going on and everything she heard she mostly made up or did not see things clearly. Doctor Harry was the doctor who attends to her at her deathbed and she perceives him as being a disturbance and she felt like she did not even need a doctor because she was not even sick and she wanted the doctor to leave. It was about a whole day and granny did not even realize she was dying she thought to herself that her father lived till he was one hundred and two and she was not dying anytime soon. .
Granny life was not easy she was the husband and wife for her children. She was a young widow after her husband John passed away. In the story she talked about how she was not trying to remember all the traumas she had in her life for sixty years. She would cook, sow, and clean and also do the man's work around the house. In the story she talked about a time she had to dig postholes herself for a hundred of acres of land. Granny life was not the easier she did not have the typical life style most young women had during that time. In a way I feel like that is way her death wasn't the best just because she went through so much during her life. She was also stood up on her wedding day by George and she truly did love him and for a women that has to be the most emotional situation that could ever happen to you just because you have family and friends around and he never came to the alter and Granny felt embarrassed. Granny mentioned in the story she needed to go to the attic to read love letters from her ex fiancé George and even till her death she still thought about him.
