Tibetan Buddhists - Pilgrimage and Love

These words will change how we behave unconsciously and we tend to do good things without even noticing. I tell myself to help people and have a meaningful day every morning I stand in front of the mirror and brush my teeth; and I tell myself that in the next day, I can contribute more to helping people every night before I go to bed. This is the ritual that I have hold for many years. I believe that by convincing me every day, it will actually influence how I behave and it is an invisible process that is undergoing every day. My understanding of religions and spirituality now is that the general idea of every religion is love. It is self-respect and compassion. I truly believe in that love is what every religion tries to spread. Because we love and care about others, we will not harm each other and because we love ourselves, we will try our best to improve our own values. .
             One thing I noticed about people from the Christian fellowship group I joined in the first year is that everyone is nice. They are willing to listen to you even though they do not know you well. It took me a long time to get adapted to American colleges. Everything was new and I got panic when things I was not familiar with surrounded me. I started to miss my family and friends very much and spent most of my time doing nothing. Under such circumstances, I joined the group wanting to try something new and get in touch with something I've always been curious about. And it turned out that friends I met in the group helped me a lot going through that period of time. Before I went to the first meeting, I imagined it to be an event that people read and teach you Bible, but it was totally different. What the group did every time was listen to your concerns and helped you with the best they could. When they heard that I was having a hard time transiting from being surrounded by families to being alone in a new environment, they showed compassion not only in words but also in actions.
