Conflict in Rabbit-Proof Fence

" Maude shields the girls while stepping behind and cries, " No! These are my kids! My kids!" The filmmaker selects this dialogue to make us fully aware of the strong conflict that is happening between the characters. This conflict is important since the audience are expected to perceive the violently verbal and visual features from Maude by watching her contorted facial expression and her struggling movement. The significance of this conflict is made clear through the director's use of music and dialogue techniques. This conflict is especially important because it reveals the aboriginal's suffer from culture identity crisis with the verbal and visual features of Molly's mother. It influences the girls' perspective on white people as well later in the film.
             Noyce also applies different camera angles and camera movements to enhance the audience's understanding of the conflict that takes place and how it develops the character's trait. The filmmaker wishes to convey the importance of family connections effectively and he wants the viewers to know about the tragedy of what had happened to the aboriginal families torn apart during the 'Stolen Generation'. The moment when Riggs is driving and chasing the three girls and their mother, a low angle camera shot is manipulated to depict Riggs' serious face and reflects his power and authority as well as his strong body shape. Additionally, the director selects the camera movements of tracking deliberately in favor of the period when Riggs is chain the half-aboriginal girls by truck.
