" And through him, again, we are introduced to the other characters of the novel of whom we would be given further details later on. .
As an outsider Mr. Lockwood doesn't seem to affect the run of the novel. He has no deep participation in its events. He is more like an observer whose fate brought him into the intricate web of Wuthering Heights and he found himself unable to resist the lure of knowing its mystifying history.
In so many ways Lockwood seems to be a representative of us as readers seeing things for the first time. His dazed mystified eyes are so much our own and even much of his responses are ours. Mr. Lockwood might be considered a main narrator in the sense that he is the one who reports to us presently the whole story. He is the one with whom we step into the Wuthering Heights' world and its perplexing, yet enchanting enigma .And he is the one with whom we finally leave that world behind stepping outside its frame which has kept us enthralled in its web for the whole length of the book.
