The Fine Arts - End of the Golden Age.
Although in the term of economy and improvements of technologies that Spain was lacking or falling behind other European counterparts. Her arts, however, had always been admirable. The artists during the Golden Age that were well known are El Greco, Valasquez, and Goya. This may include Murrillo who might be important as well.
El Greco, whose name obviously means the Greek, was from Crete and he moved to Spain. He painted most of his pictures for churches in the area. His View of Toledo, in the Metropolitan Museum of New York, is one of the finest and most unusual scenes ever put on canvas. El Greco's most famous picture is the Burial of the Count of Orgas. For centuries, this picture was hung useless on the wall in a bad shadow. But it was later lighted and the whole church seemed gathered around it. After the age of El Greco, Valazquez was rising up. He was born in Seville. His first teacher, who was also well known, was Herrera the Elder. This teacher was known for his quick ability of adopting the animation of living figures into his paintings. However, Valazquez sort of realized that the best teacher was actually himself. He spent his time drawing and painting the forms and expression of living things. He somehow hired somebody to be his figures or models. Valazquez's finest single figure is his crucified Christ, which gave rise to one of the finest poems in Spanish written by Unamuno. The third world's famous painter of Spain's Golden Age is Esteban Murrillo. He was also born in Seville. His religious pictures and his paintings of lower-class type were the two famous works of his. Murrillo's finest picture is a huge canvas of Mosses Striking the Rock which was produced for the Church of Saint George in Seville. .
The king of all musical instruments in Spain was the Spanish Guitar. Latin guitar of medieval Spain gave rise to the modern Spanish guitar.
