Absurdness

There are moments in your life when you feel like everything around you is so different than your normal reality that you find it to simply be absurd. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad thing, just stranger than what you"re used to. In my case I was taken to the big anniversary of Woodstock when I was still a young child. Although I"m writing about it to of been absurd I value my experience there and wouldn't trade it for the world. Sometimes when things are so different, such as my experience, you can appreciate them more because you"ll remember it for a long time.
I was nine when I attended Woodstock's twenty-fifth anniversary. I went with my father and my two brothers. I didn't know what to expect to tell you the truth and when I got there I had every reason not too. It was like nothing I had ever seen before, there were miles of tents all over the place and just so many people scattered throughout the whole setting. Down at the bottom of the hill was a huge stage where bands were already playing. As my father tried to explain to me all the bands that would be playing there that weekend, I could not join in his excitement, because I was nine and had no clue who he was talking about. My brothers and I set out to explore the grounds and found that there were small booths everywhere and it looked somewhat like a fair. People were braiding each others hair and giving others henna tattoos. We found a food both were the guys running it weren't even collecting money. They were in fact giving out food for free. We thought that was great and so we basically camped out around this makeshift stand and filled up on their soda and candy. Once our stomachs began to hurt we went to help our father set up the tent. Everywhere you looked all we could see was guys without their shirts on and various music blasting from both the stage and peoples personal stereos. As it was hot we found our way to the lake that everyone had congregated around, and my younger brother and I went swimming with the strangers in the lake.
