This band is pretty positive, and sometimes spiritual, but at times they are also a bit confusing. What I must say as I review this band is with all that I've mentioned, they are still a better option than many other obscene and depressing bands, especially their album "Human Clay." So, don't be over critical of those who support Creed. But you may point out some truths so people know where they are coming from. .
As the story goes, Scott Stapp, the singer, grew up in a Christian home, and was made to write bible passages for punishment. He attended youth group, and may have gotten a bad taste of Christianity growing up. One thing I think he does know is Jesus is the way and the truth, and he is very much involved in writing about him. .
With the upcoming release of "Weathered" in 2001, it will be interesting where they go lyrically, and with their lifestyles. There have been rumors of Scott rededicating his life to God. Let's hope that's true. .
Their albums have sold millions of copies, and in fact they are one of the best selling bands in the mainstream market today. That is a statement to the lie that you have to be nasty to sell records. Scott's voice is pretty amazing, and the band knows how to rock, with a sound similar to Pearl Jam. They kicked off their careers with the album "My Own Prison," which is a bit more depressing than "Human Clay." .
