Odepis: line analysis

Lines: 11-15 Oedipus explains that that he is trustworthy and he wants to help his people. He explains that he could not live with himself with all the horror in his city. To me this shows that Oedipus is a caring leader. He can not live with himself if his people are suffering.
Line 700: Creon simply says "you are insane". He says this directly to Oedipus because of his stubbornness. This is important because it shows that Creon knows that Oedipus does not believe what he has said.
Lines 1675-1677: Creon explains that Oedipus has lost all of his power and that the power he had will never come back in his life. This shows how all has been lost by Oedipus. He use to have all the power but after he finds out everything in his past he can no longer live with it or be respected by the people. For this he loses everything.
             2. Lines 107-111: Creon explains to Oedipus what he has been told from the gods. He explains that Oedipus must "drive the corruption from the land" and not "harbor" it anymore in his city. He must banish this man from the city or "payback blood for blood" and kill the man whom killed his father. Oedipus is now taking orders from someone else and must respect the wishes of the gods.
Lines 607-610: Creon yells at Oedipus because he is "tired of being instructed" and he wants Oedipus to listen to him as long as he has listened to Oedipus. This shows a shift in power to me. Oedipus who rules all must now take a second hand to Creon as he explains to Oedipus what he has done.
Lines 1583-1590: Oedipus begs Creon to do the "only decent thing" left for his wife/mother and requests that he burry her as "he sees fit". He also requests Creon to never let him be in the city while he is still living. Oedipus is seeing his end and is ready to let Creon banish him from the town and move far away from everything and everyone.
             3. Lines 28-30: The priest explains to Oedipus to look around with "his own eyes" and to see all the death that is plaguing the city.
