Definition of Eligibles

My mom would say that it is a must for the eligible to share the same religious ideas as me, whereas my dad would not see that is important. My mom is also a lot harder to please. I dated one guy all throughout high school and I learned a lot through this relationship really how many double standards that my mom has. The guy that I dated fit all of her criteria that she had told me to look for. During the whole time we dated, she was constantly criticizing how serious we were getting and how he was not the "whole picture."" Now that we have broken up and are dating other people, she is always inviting him over and even has told him that he is part of the family. .
             Both of my parents have some of the same criteria when identifying who is eligible and who is not. One requirement is the belief in the American Dream and politics which support this idea. Both my parents believe in the American Ideology, or the ability for anyone to succeed. Thus, they expect all their children to do the same and marry people who believe the same. Unfortunately, my parents also have a hidden prejudice of race, and support same race marriages. My parents would never directly acknowledge this and would be very upset if they found out I was describing this as one of their criteria. However, I feel that this I one of their main prerequisites. .
             Another necessity for the individual is that they obtain higher education in a field that is recognized with some level of prestige. It is one of their biggest hopes for me to be financially stable and be able to provide for my family like they have been able to do for me. Because of their non-supportive view on childcare other than the mother staying home, the male would therefore have to make enough money to provide for the entire family on his salary alone. .
             One last standard that is used when identifying who is eligible and who is not is whether or not they are able to relate with that individual.
