Hopalong Cassidy

The Rustlers of West Fork, by Louis L"Amour, is a fictional story about one of the many adventures of Hopalong Cassidy. Hopalong Cassidy, the hero, is a cowboy who is delivering money to a friend, Dick Jordan. The entire book is about Hopalong's journey to deliver the money. Dick Jordan is a long time friend of Cassidy's and owns The Circle J Ranch. But, upon arriving to The Circle J Ranch, Cassidy finds Dick and his daughter, Pam, being held hostage by a man named Avery Sparr. So, Cassidy rescues Dick and Pam and they head for the nearest town, Alma, which is a several days ride. Cassidy is sort of unsure if they will make it. Sparr will be chasing them and Dick is crippled and can't handle staying in the saddle for long periods of time without resting. .

He had no wife, girlfriend or ties to keep him in one specific place for too long. He was very self-reliant and depended only on himself for survival. He made several remarks about Pam, but he knew that they could never be together because of the life he led. He was very attracted to her, but she never got in the way of his thoughts or action during the long journey to Alma. Having a lady was the last of Cassidy's worries. He was a bit of a drifter and seemed to show up at the .

right place at the right time. It was suggested that he was very good at playing cards and was well know everywhere he went. He had some friends that joined him later in the story to help him fight off Sparr and his men. This would be considered his Posse. In the course of the story, these three men killed about fifteen to twenty men.
