Artemis, the Greek Goddess of the Hunt, also known as Diana, Hecate, Bast, Luna, and Selene. The Virgin Goddess, as she is called sometimes, is one of many gods. Many people dont know her, but this report will shed some light on her. One of the major things that people want to know is where any particular god/goddess came from. Annother is what is his/her domain. Alot of people have different ways of telling it, so I will try to tell it as best as I can.
Zeus, as most know, is related in one way or annother to every god or goddess, and he has many children, as well as many lady friends. His wife, know as Hera, didnt like that he had a particular interest in a nymph called Leto. Zeus then turned both Leto and himself into Quails, so they wont be noticed by Hera, and then he impregnated her. Hera, however, found out about them and cursed Leto to never be able to heve her child in a place where the sun can shine. And to make sure that this happened, she sent the snake Python after her to drive her out of any place where the sun was.
Zeus, didnt like that Leto could not have her baby, so he sent a wint to float her to a island called Delos. However Python could swim, so Zues pushed the island faster than it could swim. Leto finally had her baby, altho, she actually was having twins. Being very weak from giving birth to Artemis, could not have the second baby with out any help, so Artemis helped deliver her twin brother Apollo. Apollo was suronded by golden light, and Artemis was suronded by a silver glow.
That is the way Artemis was born, now I will tell you the domains. As said in the first paragraph she is the goddess of the hunt, but thats not all. She got all her domains from certin things, so let me start with them in order. Firstly we have child birth, because she helped deliver her brother Apollo, second then she has the gift of Eternal Chastity, she asked to never be givin away to annother man, and eternal youth and beauty, because she saw what Aphtodite did with who she had power over, so she has the domain over those who are beeing givin away by her family to those she doesnt love, usually turning them into a flower, tree, or deer.
