How i learned to fly by r.l. stine

Wilson Schlame loves to make Jack Johnson feel like a total loser, and Jack's had it. That's how he ended up, down at the beach, in a creepy, old abandoned house, in the dark, trying to hide from Wilson. But, everything is about to change. Jack dug up the coolest book called "Flying Lessons", where it teaches humans how to fly. In the book, "How I learned to Fly", Jack always loses to Wilson at everything in the beginning, Wilson humiliates him in the middle, and then Jack finally beats Wilson in the end.
In the beginning of the story, Jack and Wilson are always competing to be better than one another. Every time they compete, Wilson always wins. They both try to impress the cutest girl in school, Mia, and Wilson always has the upper hand in winning her attention. Mia invites both guys to her birthday party. When she opens her presents, she opens Jacks firsts and its the new Purple Rose CD, which is her favorite band. She is glad to receive the CD and loves Jacks gift until she opens Wilson's. When Mia opens Wilson's gift, she opens an envelope with 2 front row tickets to see Purple Rose. Mia is thrilled, which makes Wilson gloat, and Jack jealous. Jack runs out of Mia's party, angry that Wilson overdoes him in everything. Mia runs after him, but Jack hides from her in an old abandoned house by the beach in Malibu (the city they live in). He walked around in the house, and then fell threw broken boards of the floor in the house. He fell in the basement, where he found an interesting book called, "Flying Lessons", and took it home with him.
When Jack gets home, he starts reading the "Flying Lessons", book in the middle of the story. The book tells Jack to read an odd chant and to do weird exercises and hops before drinking the flying ingredients that were inserted in an envelope in the book. After he follows all the instructions written, he goes outside and starts hopping, and then he eventually starts soaring threw the air.
