Interesting aspect of the scalet letter

One aspect of scarlet letter which I found interesting was how Hester was not trying to hide her sin and she took full responsibility for it, by her self. This aspect is discussed a few times in the five chapters I have read so far. First you can tell Hester was not hiding her sin when she walked out of the jail with the A knitted. "On the breast of her gown, in fine red cloth, surrounded with an elaborate embroidery and fantastic flourishes of gold thread, appeared the letter A. It was so artistically done, and with so much fertility and gorgeous luxuriance of fancy, that it had all the effect of a last and fitting decoration to the apparel which she wore; and which was of a splendor in accordance with the taste of the age, but greatly beyond what was allowed by the sumptuary regulations of the colony."" The A on her sweater stood for Adultery which was her sin. She was punished with wearing that for the rest of her life. You would thing someone would try to hide it as much as they can but her knitting it tells us that she believes she deserves what she got for her crime and she does not want sympathy and she will stand tall and proud. "And never had Hester Prynne appeared more lady-like, in the antique interpretation of the term, than as she issued from the prison-. Another time where this is shown is when Hester does not tell on her partner in sin. Even though her partner is equally responsible she refuses to reveal his identity and willing to take full responsibility for the whole thing on her own. She notices how there are many people walking the streets who have committed the same crime she has and no one knows about it. The scarlet letter "gave her a sympathetic knowledge of the hidden sin in other hearts- Last, this is shown when Hester got out of prison even though she could go anywhere she stayed in Boston.
