Abstinence

The number of people with a Sexually Transmitted Disease in America are growing rapidly, with an estimated 56 million Americans who are considered a carrier. This should come as no shock since a lack of morality has swept through the nation in the past 20 years, also known as the MTV generation. The lack of morality has lead to an increase in sex with multiple partners among people ages thirteen to twenty-five. Not only for moral reasons, but to not attract an STD is the reason people in the MTV generation should start practicing abstinence.
Relations will benefit with the increase of abstinence because it will allow for more trust. Trust is deteriorated from many relationships because of past sexual relations with other people and the possibility for disease. Deteriorating relationships have caused an increase in divorces unlike that ever seen in the world. Lack of faithfulness to single partner sex has also cause an increase in bastard children, because either the father cannot or will not take responsibility and the mothers may not always know who the father is. So in conclusion, abstinence will help to strengthen the American family.
When you reach adolescence it is common to become sexually curious, and with the growing popularity of sex in the media it is instilled to young fragile minds that sex is alright. This should be more regulated because of its affect on young teenagers. Such solutions to this would be take it out of prime time programming and to put it in after 10:00pm. Another solution would be offer more V-CHIP technology to users so that if you are under eighteen you are not able to view the programs without adult presence. Finally, the media could also promote abstinence in programming or put more real world scenarios into the programs that have sexual themes so it does not brainwash the kids into thinking everything turns out perfect after sexual relations.
