New industries are trying to come to our area and if they do, it will have a major impact on many lives. I think we should discourage new industries from coming to our area and force them away. We are concerned that new industries will have negative effect on our living environment like pollution, more congestion on street and highways, and there would be more crime rates.
If we bring new industries to our area it will make the pollution rates increase and the air maybe more polluted. Some industries, like those in Texas City, can put out emissions that pollute the air and water. Those chemicals that are being put out are very harmful to the environment. Some of those chemicals make people very sick. Like my dad he works at Dow Chemical and he said if you ever see dark smoke in the air around the plants that, that is very harmful to the environment. .
If you build more industries, you would have to build more roads going to the industry. That would make the streets and highways more congested. If there were a new industry you would have to fill the plant up with people to run the plant. So that brings more people to our area because they have to go to work.
New industries would bring more crime around this area. People could be trying to break into the plant and steal stuff. Such as workers in the new industry could be stealing from there own work while working. That wouldn't make it good on the industry because they would be loosing stuff like money, tools, metal, and other stuff.
So bringing new industries to our area isn't a great idea. We should drive industries away because it has a big effect on our living environment like pollution, more congestion on streets and highways, and there would be more crime rates. New industries would have a big effect on our area.
