According to Ferrara, "An American does not have to obey the mad ravings of ignorant, ungodly cruel, old men. American men will not be fooled into giving their lives to kill innocent people, so that these foolish old men may hold on to power. (Ferrara, par 8)." Ferrara states here, how Americans are to abide by laws for good reasons. Most laws are written to protect Americans from harm and they know that breaking laws doesn't make their lives any easier. "American women are free to show their beautiful faces to the world, as each of them choose." (Ferrara, par 8) Instead of abiding by some preposterous laws that were given to them by old, spiteful men in charge, American women understand that they can show their immaculate faces to the world and be proud. American men and women are free to believe and dress how they want because they all share the same bond: being an American and believing in their civil rights.
