There are many people in this world that would sell their soul to the devil. Fortunately many of them are also fictitious characters. On of these characters is Elliot from the 2000 movie Bedazzled. In this movie Elliot wants to win the heart of the girl next door, Allison. After failing many times Beelzebub shows up and makes a deal with Elliot. She will grant him seven wishes for his soul. He agrees. The only catch in this deal as with all deals that the devil makes there are repercussions. When he wishes to become a genius he later finds out that in the process he is also gay. When he makes another wish to be a professional basketball player, the devil gives him the skills and height, and shortens his "manliness". Elliot felt that he was down on his luck and the only chance that he could win the girl would be to make this deal.
In the 1997 movie The Devil's Advocate the main character, Kevin Lomax is presented with the opportunity of a lifetime. He is offered a job working for the best law firm in New York City. Kevin graciously accepts and him and his wife move from their small Florida town to the bright lights of New York. As time goes on Kevin drifts away from his wife and gets more involved with his career and his boss, John Milton. Kevin enjoys all the things that his boss is showing him, wealth, vanity, greed, just to name a few. This is all starting to seem suspicious to Kevin's wife, Mary Ann. She starts to realize that her husband was not working for just any man; he was working for the devil. In this particular situation with the devil, the devil convinces someone to make a deal with him without actually revealing he was the devil. The devil takes on a image of this lawyer to disguise what he really is.
