History Evaluation

The best thing about history that I find interesting and fun is to learn about the early days and how it all had begun. Sometimes I daze off wondering where everything has come from whenever I see something that puts me in awe. It is interesting to find out and trace back to the root of events that had led to another. These answers can all be discovered through studying history and its stories.
When I look at history, I think of it as stories that are told after one and another passed down by generations after generations through records and documents. These stories teach the current generations of the cause and effect of the problems that have occurred and why it did, in attempts to teach us how to avoid mistakes from ever happening again. For an example, Adolf Hitler, a dictator, was on the verge to genocide all the Jews during World War II and yet the world did nothing to stop it. The whole world didn't want part of it because they felt it didn't affect them and that they have their own problems to worry about. When other countries finally intervened, there were only a few more thousands of Jews left. If it weren't for the intervention of other countries, Jews would have been extinct. It would be a pity then because the Jews made a lot of great contribution to the world. As you can see, events like these are recorded in history for the current generations to study in hopes that if there is such a thing like this to happen, they will be able to make the right choice to intervene. This is one experience I have with history that I can never forget. After studying this part of history, I kept wondering what if this and that had happen .would it make a difference?.
After taking this course, I hope to have a bright knowledge of our history of the United States. I hope to learn as much accurate information as possible instead of being fed lies of history that never happen. I heard from students that students are only taught what the government wants them to know and so the truth is covered to make the United States look good.
