The Glamor of Growing Up


            Making the transition from living with your parents to complete independence can be both challenging and exciting. The duties of a teen living in their family home differ a great deal from the responsibilities of an adult living in society. While living in their parent's home, teens must conform to their parent's requests and are unable to explore new opportunities. But after making the move into what most parents call the "real world", a teen takes on a new world of opportunity and faces the challenges of becoming an adult. To a teen, this transition seems so unconstrained; however, he or she has yet to consider all the responsibilities that come with that independence. .
             While living in the family home, a teen must follow a set of rules given by the parents. These rules are usually meant to limit the exposure of unbeneficial occurrences in the teen's life. These rules usually deal with curfews and restrictions. However, the teen usually views his or her parent's rules as limitations set on the fun they could be experiencing. Not only do teens feel burdened by rules, they must also work by performing dreadful tasks on a daily basis. After being asked four times to complete the task, the teen may stroll out of bed sometime around eleven o"clock to feed the dog. The teen then may mumble a complaint and return to his or her throne to catch more beauty sleep. Another responsibility of a teen is the horrific institution called high school. Every weekday he or she is awakened by a screeching alarm only to spend the day trying not to listen to dreadful knowledge being taught by bitter teachers who want more vacation time. Then there is the issue of money. Usually this is of no concern because, well, Mom's credit card is a lot easier to swipe than dealing with pesky paper bills. But .
