Hypochondria


             Ingvard Wilhelmsen has just finished his morning appointments. He has seen a 45-year-old business executive who does not have heart disease, and a 38-year-old engineer who does not have stomach cancer. Other patients in his practice include a 51-year-old teacher who doesn't have a bad thyroid and a 40-year-old man who doesn't have lung cancer or a brain tumor." A normal person would ask, "what is the common disease shared by all these people?" The answer I would give to that person is Hypochondria. .
             In fact Doctor Ingvard Wilhelmsen is very active in the treatment of Hypochondria. He is the subject of several of my sources. He is stationed in Bergen Norway. He is helping Hypochondria sufferers" one day a week. Dr. Wilhelmsen uses "cognitive behavior therapy." "Cognitive behavior therapy" means "getting patients to recognize that they misinterpret body signals, always fearing the worst instead of realistically evaluating the danger of disease. Dr. Wilhelmsen hopes that by "examining the reason they can overcome their anxieties.".
             Hypochondria, according to Webster, is "A state of mind in which people persistently and morbidly worry about their health, even though they have no disease. This simply means a person who always thinks he or she is sick when in reality they are perfectly fine. Many times a person struggling with Hypochondria (a Hypochondriac) feels that this "disease" is fatal. There are four very different types of Hypochondria. Anyone can get Hypochondria no matter their age or sex. Even people at Lutheran High School may have Hypochondria. Hypochondria are an extremely frustrating disease because of the anonymous cause, the difficult doctor experience, and the complete hopelessness of hypochondria. There are several warning signs and clues that someone has Hypochondria. There are varieties of symptoms. A Hypochondriac has complications involving money and their heath because of their disease.
