The Odyssey

Homer's great mythical character, Odysseus in the "Odyssey" has extraordinary supernatural skills. In addition to his supernatural skills, Odysseus is the bravest, strongest, and the most clever amongst his fellow men. .
Odysseus is stronger than any other character in the "Odyssey". His strength is not of any god's strength and is greater than the strength of an ordinary man. One example of his strength was bestowed within his heart. The strength in his heart was superior to those of his men because he never gave up hope of returning to Ithaca. He persuaded his men to never let go of their hope and dream of returning home one day. Odysseus fought through a cursed journey for sixteen years. Out of all his fellow men, he remained alive and made his journey home. Another reason Odysseus is superior in strength to the other male characters in the story is because he is the leader of his crew. He needs to keep his men dedicated, organized, and hopeful. Odysseus has to make sure everything goes smoothly because if he makes a mistake as a leader, lives would suffer for it. His leadership is somewhat his strength because his crewmembers, that learned to trust him with their lives, need him to battle through all the obstacles to help them survive. .
Odysseus is braver than any of the male characters in the "Odyssey". One example of his bravery is he went to Hades alone to find Tiresias. He knew how dangerous of a path he was heading but he went anyway in search of a way to get back to Ithaca. His love for his family and the hope to see them again kept him going. Odysseus realized he might not come back alive and warned his fellow crew. Another example of his bravery is when he decides to go find his men at Circe's Island. He made sure the rest of his crew stayed where they were so they would not get into any harm or danger. Odysseus eventually found the rest of his crew, but as animals, and found a way to turn the animals all back to human beings.
