Animal Imagery of Macbeth

There are many examples of animal imagery in the play Macbeth such as.
foreshadow death by black birds, symbolizes people, and make atmosphere a .
supernatural nature. Shakespeare uses animal imagery for three main reasons: to .
characterize, to show emotions, and to foreshadow. The animal imagery illustrates .
             evil, deceit, and fearlessness.
My first main point is foreshadows death by black birds. The raven himself is .
hoarse/That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan (190, 34). Here Lady Macbeth had .
received word from the messenger of Macbeth that he had been told he was Thane of .
Cawdor and would become king of Scotland by three witch's and Lady Macbeth was .
preparing for Duncan so that they could slay him and Macbeth would be crowned. .
Another death imagery would be, It was the owl that shrieked, the fatal bellman (199, 3). .
Here Lady Macbeth is describing Duncan as he sleeps unaware of his impending death .
and the two guards who are drunk and asleep. The last death imagery would be, I heard .
the owl scream and the crickets cry (199, 16). Here Macbeth is telling Lady Macbeth he .
had slain Duncan and heard a noise. Macbeth is describing Duncan's two sons Malcolm .
and Donalbain who were awakened after Macbeth had slain Duncan.
My second main point Symbolizes people. As sparrows, eagles, or the hare the .
lion (181, 35). Here, the soldier is speaking of Macbeth and Banquo. Just as an eagle .
easily defeats the sparrow or the lion defeats the hare, Macbeth and Banquo defeat their .
opponents which shows how fierce Macbeth and Banquo really are. Another imagery of .
symbolizing people by animals would be, Look like the innocent flower/But be the .
serpent under't (191, 61). Here Lady Macbeth is telling Macbeth to hide his emotions .
and to hide their plot to kill Duncan. The last imagery of symbolizing people by animals .
would be, withered murder,/ Alarumed by his sentinel, the wolf (198, 52 & 53). Here .
