             Jim : Someone ought to kiss you.
             ( As Jim walks towards Laura he reaches over grabs her hand, looks into her eyes, and gives her a kiss. ).
             Jim: ( walking away from Laura, reaching for a cigarette.) Would you like a smoke Oh! That's right you don't smoke. Im sorry I should not have kissed you. I can't be your gentlemen caller. I will not call you on the weekends, I can not see you after tonight. I am already taken by Betty. We're in love, and it feels so good to be in love. You feel as if you are on top of the world. If you were my sister I'd have gentlemen callers lined up around the street for you. You are so beautiful, if only you could see it for yourself, and if only we were in different circumstances.
             ( Laura turns towards the window gripping firmly onto her glass ornament.Amanda comes out of the kitchen with a pitcher full of lemonade, unaware of what just happened between Laura and Jim. ).
             Amanda: Jim have you ever tried some southern lemonade. It is delicious, I used to make it for my gentlemen callers back in Blue Mountain. .
             Jim: Sorry Mam' Don't think I have ever tried some southern lemonade, but you should not have not gone through all that trouble, I'm leaving now anyway.
             Amanda: Oh, but why! Its so early! Pardon, it must be because your such a hard worker you work a night shift as well. An overachieving young man.
             Jim: Yes Mam' I have to punch during the day and at night, not for my job though. Betty.
             Amanda: Betty, and who is that Your sister?.
             Jim: She is the girl I am seeing. We are engaged actually, we marry mid April.
             Amanda: Oh really? Engaged? Tom never mentioned anything about you being engaged.
             Jim: Oh that Shakespeare is never out of his shell at work, he hardly knows anything that goes on in that warehouse. Well I must be off now thank you so much for dinner. Now I know what they mean by southern hospitality. .
             Amanda: Oh why thank you Jim, I wish you good fortune and happiness, and so does Laura, right sweety?.
