Bartelby The scrivener

Bartelby the Scrivener The Real Story.
You may remember me from that terrible story about me told by that nameless narrator, he completely twisted the story to make himself look good. I can't believe that he told such lies about me in front of such a grand audience. Well, never mind that, I am here to tell you the complete story about my days as a scrivener in that narrator's office.
I was employed by the narrator that you are familiar with from the story that was recorded by mister Melville. I applied for the job shortly after I lost my job at the dead letter office in Washington. I was very fond of that job. Since I had no family of my own, it was very interesting for me to read what family members would write to each other. I was hired to rectify this problem. At first I noticed that Mr. Melville took liking to me. I think that this is because he thought that we were a lot alike. I am here to tell you that we are not. Anyway back to the story. While under the employment of the nefarious nameless narrator, I did my work most diligently. Always very precise, and always on time. I did my work to such a degree that I thought that I deserved for Mr. Narrator to pay for my housing. He proposed that I could live in the office. I didn't particularly like the idea, but since I had no where else to go, I accepted. I spent all my time in the office now. So I continued to do my spectacular work, and as time went on, it seemed as though the narrator good manner toward me began to decrease. I took no notice of it until he approached me seemingly wanting to fire me. Since I am not a man who embraces conflict well, I told him that I would prefer not to discuss the matter. That was the end of it.
I did no know until he started trying to sell the building. I approached him when I found out about this because I knew that this meant that I would be out of housing. I asked "Kind sir, why are you attempting to sell the building? If you sell it, I will have no where to sleep.
