family household, I have been, in all meanings of the word exposed to the arts. Since before I can remember, I have been singing and performing for my large family, and since I was four, I have been taking classes in Acting, Singing, and Dancing.

Music has been a passion of mine through out the years. It started when I was very young and I would sing all sorts of songs that my mother would teach me. Following that I took music classes in voice up through high school, and I even learned the Saxophone in school. Even though I don't play in Band anymore, I still play my sax at home as a hobby, along with teaching myself piano and guitar. If you look at all my experience in music and theatre in my past, it seems only natural that I go into the Musical Theatre Department at Sam Houston State University. .

SHSU's Musical Theatre Dept is considered, by Kennedy Center, to be one of the top four in the Nation, and I was rewarded one of only 11 open slots into this amazing program. This Scholarship will help me to hone my skills as a triple threat, especially my vocal needs, so that I may realize my full potential and work in Musical Theatre across the U.S. I am especially hopefully of making it on Broadway which has been a goal of mine since I was very young. All in all the receiving of such an honor as this scholarship will only assist me further in becoming the singer I wish to become.
