Reaching that Dream

Black culture is the American Dream come true. The American Dream is the ideals that people have and hope for and that they believe America will allow these ideals to come true. The black culture was suppressed by white man for centuries. Even after they were freed from slavery they did not have the freedoms and rights that an American should have. As time went on the black culture slowly was able to become a part of the American society and in turn live the American Dream. .
The black culture had many obstacles along the path to achieving the Dream. Three major obstacles that the black society was able to overcome was their lack of justice, opportunity, and education. The black culture was treated very unfairly. There was almost no justice for a black man who was done wrong by a white man. They were outcast by the white man and not given opportunities that one would expect in America. The black culture was not able to hold the same jobs as a white man could. Another major obstacle the black culture was able to overcome was a lack of education and a means by which to get an education. Blacks were prevented from learning as much as they could or wanted to by the white man. As each of these obstacles to the ideals of the American Dream was overcome the blacks became closer and closer to living the American Dream.
The black community was very dependent upon whites. They were unable to create enough opportunity within their own communities. This stemmed from the roots of their culture in which they were freed from slavery and set out on their own with nothing. In order for them to get a start they had to return to their former masters to earn money. This started them off basically back in slavery but with a small amount of money given to them for their duties. As blacks began to earn money and be able to start things of their own they became slightly more of a part of society.
Even as they became slightly more integrated into society, it is still amazing that the black culture was able to overcome their lack of opportunity.
