Hawaii


            
             Hawaii is one of the worlds most beautiful and relaxing places. It was the fiftieth state to join the union in 1959. Honolulu, the capital city, is on the Island of Oahu. There are actually about 8 big islands that make up Hawaii and some smaller ones all around it. A lot of people would consider Hawaii the perfect place to live.
             The weather in Hawaii doesn't change much from day to day. During a 24 hour period the temperature doesn't change more then 15 degrees. Hawaii has one of the warmest climates throughout the United States. Temperatures that the islands reach for the year are a low of sixty-five to a high of eighty degrees. Hawaii can get close to a inch and a half of rainfall a week.
             There are lots of interesting facts about the state of Hawaii. It's the only state that is considered islands. Hawaii is the fourth smallest state in the United States. The only state to ever have a king is Hawaii. It's the only state to be surrounded by all water. Hawaii has one of the best tourist turnouts a year. Pearl Harbor is located on the island of Oahu.
             Hawaii has a lot of unique wildlife on its islands. There aren't any snakes, crocodiles, or large cats on Hawaii though. Animals like humpback whales and mongooses are a normal site throughout the islands. The coral reefs that are by the islands contain a variety of tropical fish and plants. Sharks and hammerheads are probably the most dangerous animals toward humans around these islands.
             Over 6 million tourists travel to the islands of Hawaii a year. There are always activities to do while staying in Hawaii. Most people just want to relax, but you could hike on trails, swim in the Pacific Ocean, explore caves and volcanoes, surf, snorkel, or just site see the beautiful landscape. Tourists bring in over a third of the income to the islands. The main islands for tourist are Oahu, Maui, or Kauai.
             There are over eight hundred miles of shoreline in Hawaii.
