            My clients Tiffany and Jake Babson are looking to invest in their future as a retirement fund. They know that in just 15 years they want to retire. With the money they have saved up so far they know that they cannot live the way they are now.              I wanted to see how much debt they have and where we could try to cut back on too much spending and more saving without interrupting their normal lifestyle. For the moment they have a mortgage payment of $1,200/month a car payment $500/month, credit card debt of 10K which is about $500/month. They have student loans that are 105/month and miscellaneous credit card bills, which average 200/ month that they pay in full each month. Together the annual salary for the household is 63,000. By showing me this information I am able to know that they could afford have some risk in their investment without having to suffer with it. They have no plans of taking the money until they retire, because they are waiting for an inher $200k .
             My clients feel that they fall into a moderate risk with greater return potential category. I believe that a moderate growth strategy will go great for what they want to do. This way they could see their money growing with the times and hope to beat the inflation rate. This is important so that the dollars that are being invested today are not worth less when they are sending their son to college. From what I see they would be good with a balance of investments in bonds and stocks.
