Diry of anne frank play

The diary of Anne Frank play was an excellent play with minimal errors although repeated ones. Set in Amsterdam during World War II on the second floor of a warehouse, where Anne, her parents and sister, Peter and his parents and a unpleasant dentist were hiding out, so the Nazis wouldn't find them and send them to a concentration camp.
I think what the cast and the crew of this play were trying to do, is show the sameness of everyday in that attic and show that along with that sameness came tension that grew everyday. They tried to show how this experience changed every single person in that attic, for example Anne was made from this extremely talkative and cheerful girl without any troubles, to a 14 year old with things to worry about that a 14 year old shouldn't think about, she became more serious and more aware of what was happening. Lauren Orkus tried to show all this through the emotions and gestures evolving from the beginning to the end of the play. .
As for the acting in Anne Frank it was pretty good except to some things were too exaggerated, for example I thought that Andrew Foster was overacting, so Peter wasn't one of the most believable characters in the play. On the other hand David Breitbarth who played the role on Mr. Frank did an excellent job, the way he talked, the way he moved and every gestures he did, it just almost made you forget that you were actually in a theater watching a play. Although the only fault that there was in his acting was at the beginning when he was supposed to be reading Anne's diary simultaneously with Anne, he messed up. Another thing that I like in this play was the believability of the costumes and makeup, the costumes helped suck you in the play and make you think you are in 1940, and the make up looked natural, just enough to see the actors faces. Also the lighting was really good, all the light cues were followed and it looked very natural.
