Bread Symbolism


            Bread has been one choice of food for man that has been traced all the way back 10,000 years ago. Actual loaves of bread were found from 5,000 years ago in ancient Egypt. Bread has changed form from past years becoming more of a spiritual meaning rather than just being a form of food. .
             The first thing bread makes me think about is food. Food plays a big role in the world because it is used to do so many things. Bead is one of the oldest forms of food eaten throughout the world. It has been improved and expanded in a variety of ways. People have perfected it by adding different ingredients such as rye, wheat and even sugar. In some types of bread, flower is the number one ingredient in making it and yeast is the key ingredient used, which causes it to rise. With out it there would just be a flat piece of cooked dough. Bread is made by adding various ingredients, as listed above, and kneading them together. This process take a little while but can be very fun. After that is all done, it is shaped in the form that you desire. Most form it into loaves, which are long rounded fully cooked parcels of the dough. When that is done, it is baked in the oven for the time allotted.
             My favorite kind of bread would definitely have to be Hawaiian bread. There is a saying " Bet you can't just have one!" In this case, that saying applies to this type bread. It has a very sweet taste to it and I hate to say it but I almost .

             like it as much as cake. The easiest way to describe this type of bread is it has more of a darker golden brown, rounded and has a sweet taste to it. It definitely something everyone should try.
             Bread can be used for a variety of different things besides a purposeful meaning. It can be used for scraping up those last few drops of gravy off your plate, as hors d"oeuvres and just plain old snacks. Like I mentioned before, bread is a very old form of food and was eaten to survive. Today it is still eaten in that way, it is very fulfilling food containing lots of carbohydrates to give you energy but if eaten too much, it can result in some bathroom problems.
