Stinky old gyms

I"ll never forget those boiling summer days, I spent in a foul-smelling gym practicing my basketball skills. Dirtying up all my clean clothes, and having to wash them was well worth the outcome.
That summer was the summer of my junior year of high school. I remember it took me months before I mastered any of my goals. I was practicing everyday so that I could be apart of my school's varsity basketball team. I committed every part of myself to basketball that summer. I played AAU, which is a club league, along with all my friends. I also worked with a trainer for a little while. I was bound and determined to make the varsity team. I've never sweated so much in my life. I probably could have filled up five jars of sweat . I could have also played five consecutive basketball games without gasping for air. But I was also in the best shape of my life, so it was ok. Even though it was a lot of hard and strenuous work, I had so much fun at the same time. Not only did I improve on my basketball skills, I soon began to loose weight. It was amazing what a little bit of exercising can do to you! I dedicated every spare minute I had to improvement. I kept telling myself "Practice makes perfect." I think that's what kept me going all summer because I wanted perfection. I haven't yet reached perfection, but there's always room for more improvement. I used to get nightmares of basketball gyms because I was in them all the time. The gym was practically my home away from home. I didn't mind though, I was used to it. Working on my basketball skills soon became habit forming, which I have yet to break.
After all that hard work that summer, it finally paid off. I ended up making the varsity team at my school. I was so excited. I"m so thankful that I committed myself to basketball because I succeeded in my goals. Success is an awesome feeling to obtain. It just takes a little bit of hard work and some time and you"ll have the potential to be successful.
