Commencement

Hello, it is an honor indeed to have been asked to give the commencement address. I want to congratulate all the graduates that made it here today. Personally, I"m very proud of myself just being able to graduate on time, because NYU isn't easy. After countless nights of studying and thousands and thousands of dollars, we"re finally about to get our diplomas. And it may look just like another sheet of paper, but it really isn't; it is something that reminds ourselves that we been through all this, that we have been persistent, and that we've earned it with hard works.
There are many types of students here at NYU; some of my classmates are the smartest people that I've ever met in life. There are times that I simply don't get how they understand what the professors are talking. How some people will always get straight A's on their exams, and still be in 20 of those Alpha, Kitty and Omega Clubs. Well, I may not a straight A's student, but like rest of us, I am persistent. I mean, think about it, in many ways, we are all persistent, but we've often taken it for granted, because it doesn't seem obvious, and that there isn't always a pat on our back for what we do. Think about those that you've met in freshman year that isn't here with us today. They might have just been the smart one; moving on to greater things in life, but nevertheless, we deserve recognition for our persistency. We did our part. We didn't take any short cuts; we took on courses after courses, and we've kept our faith believing that one day we will get out of this place and move on to greater things in life. .
Now, we are about to leave this place and move on, but many us have doubts, and wondering where our future lies? Moving on to greater things in life is easier said than done; many of us still have to worry about getting a decent job, and paying off our loans. Some say that the economy is heading north, and soon, employment rate will go up again; which I believe is the direction that we are heading.
