" If the parents are not always around when a child needs them, they cry because they are dependent on their parents. This could lead to neglect, not saying it will. There is also a possibility that the parents can not afford the child with only one parent working, so the child gets sent off to day care, where they are completely dependent on the care takers. There are many situations that a child could and will fell neglect. There sometimes nothing wrong with the way a parent raises their child, but when the child wants, needs, or desires something, that child has become dependent on his parents. Later on in life when the child grows up and matures into an adult; the dependency that he wanted as a child was never there for him when he needed it the most, and he does not forget it completely, it is just placed in the unconscious mind. Now as an adult, he does not want that dependency anymore. In speculation, the adult wants to prove his parents wrong by becoming an independent adult. He might think to himself, that "I do not need your help; I can make it on my own!" This is the very common factor in many, if not all children. It is not the parents" fault they can not be at the child's side at every begging moment in their child's life, which is not humanely possible. .
If a parent or "friend" tells someone he will not succeed in life, which is a perfect motive to succeed. On the contrary, if the person is told that he is the best thing in the world, when a negative aspect occurs, he will not handle it well and will probably not succeed. Having a repressed urge or desire helps a person succeed in life, especially with baseball. I have been told numerous times that I am too small and will never go anywhere with baseball. I am out here to prove them wrong. This is a great example of sublimation; by taking my repressed urge of "proving people wrong" I can play baseball at a higher level.
