American dream in death of a salesman

Willy entirely believes in what he considers the promise of the American Dream "that a "well liked- and "personally attractive- man in business will unquestionably and be worthy of acquiring the material comforts offered by modern American life. Oddly, his obsession with the superficial qualities of attractiveness and likeability is at odds with a more rough, more rewarding understanding of the American Dream that identifies hard work without complaint as the key to success. Willy's interpretation of likeability is superficial "he immaturely dislikes Bernard because he considers Bernard a nerd. Willy's blind faith in his short version of the American Dream leads to his rapid psychological decline when he is unable to accept the gap between the Dream and his own life.
In death of a salesman, The Loman family struggles to obtain "the American Dream-. Willie has worked hard all his life, waiting for the society to pay him back. The only problem is that waiting isn't the answer for this family. Success just hasn't been reacting to all the hard work endeavored by Willie. Turns out that this was just an illusion for the success that he believed will follow. .
I believe the American dream is a reality in the story, but the Loman family has just been misfortune. I realize that this isn't the best excuse for the Loman family's hardships, but there is no other logical justification to why Willie has not been satisfied with the possessions he has been provided with. I believe the American dream is obtainable because the author, Arthur Miller, presents a different scenario where another family- being Charley and Bernard- have been completely able to encompass the thorough idea of the American dream. .
Through Willie's point of view, the American Dream is just a myth. No doubt about it. Being as hard working as Willie, I would think that I was bound for glory. Having not this idea is exceedingly discourage able.
