Veieled unveiled

What's the point of saying I have faith and not act upon the One I have faith on. My life drastically changed after just this simple cloth. It is far more complex then just a material. It gives me satisfaction that I do this as an act of faith to please my One and Only God. I walk with dignity and respect because that's what I receive from others. My hijab is a mark of piety and an act of faith. Now, the world appreciates me for who I am and not my manifestation though there are some who are ignorant ones. To them I say, "Remove the "hijab" from your heart to understand and see the heart of purity." In the first few days, I felt isolated and several strange stares glared at me every path I walked. As I got used to my hijab, so did others around me. Unfortunately, in spite of everything, those around me do not see hijab as a personal act of worship. Rather, they see it as personal attack on them. It instinctively signifies to them that I object to everything they do. I find the resentment intricate to comprehend; just because my head is covered, people think twice before relating to me, in fact they are unable to relate to me. It does not matter. I had established new freedom and an outstanding sense of assurance in myself as a Muslim but most others see me as a throwback and reluctant. In a nutshell, hijab is the truest test of being a Muslim Woman. This decision is made by women who have the faith. In the Holy Quran, God has commanded: "O Prophet: Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believer to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better that they should be known so as not to be annoyed. And God is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful, (33:59). " In this verse, we are told the main purpose of hijab which is that the women are not annoyed. Hijab is like an umbrella on a rainy day and like a shade in the sun. To the faithful woman, hijab is a very essential aspect of her life.
