Ted Bundy: Beneath The Mask

Ted Bundy is the poster boy for Serial Killers. He was a lady killer in a real sense of the word. Most of his victims resembled his first love Stephanie Brooks. In my opinion her rejection of him set off the triggers of his rage. .
He wasn't a stereotype of a homicidal killer. He was smart, good looking, and charming. He worked at the phones at Seattle Crisis Clinic. It is ironic that he was very good at keeping people alive. He was a convincing actor. Those who knew him couldn't believe that a monster lay under his charming personality. Over the years he had many names and masks. .
One of the major things that lead to his capture, I think is the attempt to kidnap Carol DaRonch on November 8, 1974. Ted impersonated a police officer and told her that her car was broken into. She looked at it and it looked fine to her. He leads her to a building that he tells her is the police office, but it was locked. The building was in fact the back to a laundry place. Afer this she gets into his WV bug to go to another police station. She assumes that he is off duty and this is a regular vehicle. She starts to get nervous when he keeps driving, so she wanted out. She opens the door and falls out. They fight outside the car. Carol runs to an oncoming car and gets away. .
Ted got very upset at this. He kidnaps Deborah Kent after her play later that evening. Carol gave investigators a description of the man and vehicle. The bug was also seen in speeding away from the high school parking lot when Deborah went missing. In 1975 a highway patrolman noticed an unfamiliar man in a WV bug. He put on his lights and the bug speed away, but a few blocks later it pulled over. He asked for ID and it said Theodore Robert Bundy. The police searched the car and found a pair of hand cuffs, a length of rope, a crowbar, a ski mask, an ice pick, and a nylon stocking. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of burglary.
