Author Study on Patricia Maclaclan

            There are many creative authors for children and adult books today. Some authors are known quite well, as to others who don't get as much recognition. Many writers don't start writing until they are older, as opposed to others who pick up a pen at a very young age.There are so many things to discuss when writing about authors, there are many great ones out there. Patricia Maclachlan is one of the many authors who writers children's books, that is a pretty creative woman. Maclachlans writings were mainly shaped by her concerns on adoption and foster mothers, which she claims had a major impact on her life. These writings were from a series of journal articles. .
             Patricia was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on              Her most famous book written is "Sarah, Plain and Tall", this book captured many awards and recognition, and was close to becoming the Newbery. Patricia has received many awards throughout her lifetime. Maclachlan based much of her stories on places such as prairies due to the fact that she was born on one, and it is said that to this day she still carries a small bag of prairie dirt with her wherever she goes to remind her of what she had knew first.
