A Conversation With Lane Frost

If I could have a conversation with anyone dead or alive, I would choose Lane Frost. Lane was a professional bull rider (PBR), who won the PBR title in 1987. He even had a movie made, 8 Seconds, that was based on his life. Unfortunately, Lane was killed while riding a bull in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1989. In my conversation with Lane I would ask him what it was like to be #1 at his profession while maintaining his faith in God, and what a person like himself goes through in his personal life with all the fame that goes along with being a world champion.
I would like to discuss with Lane what went on with his personal life during this time. I would suspect that his life changed somewhat from the time he began competing on the PBR circuit to when he was killed. Within the Lane Frost web page it says that he was a devout Christian although the movie really doesn't show that. Being of the Christian faith myself, I would like to ask Lane if once one makes it to the top of what he or she does, is it a little harder to maintain that faith in God than when one is still climbing the ladder. During the peak of Lane's rodeo career, his marriage started to fall apart. Unlike in the movie, which portrays Lane cheating on his wife, Kellie, they actually separated for a brief time because of his hectic travels that came with being on a professional rodeo circuit. I would be interested to know how hard it was to mend a broken family, especially since so many "celebrities" seem to be in that situation in today's world. I think a conversation with Lane about the ups and downs of his personal life would definitely be interesting.

Another aspect of Lane Frost life that I would like to ask him about is how achieving fame in so short of time affected him. The movie shows Lane obviously enjoying the attention from the crowd. In today's world, "celebrities" seem to have a complete personality change when they achieve fame.
