Jesus of Nazareth


Jesus begins preaching at his temple in Nazareth is kicked out by the men at the temple for saying that the scriptures in Isaiah have been fulfilled. Jesus then meets Andrew and Philip and they travel to Capernaum where they meet Simon Peter. Jesus performs the miracle of the abundant fish (Lk 5.4) and begins preaching at Simon Peter's house. Jesus heals a paralyzed man at Peter's house and leaves the crowd shocked. Jesus eats at Matthew's house and Matthew becomes a follower. Judas is introduced and becomes a follower of Christ. Jesus performs the miracle of the bread and fish (9.16), otherwise known as the feeding of five thousand. Jesus meets with the Pharisees for the first time and Mary Magdalene washes Jesus" feet while there and he takes away her sins (Lk. 7.50) and leaves the Pharisees in awe and confusion. Jesus then begins to make his way toward Jerusalem. Jesus gives the Sermon on the Mount (Lk 6.20) to his followers. Before arriving at Jerusalem, Jesus is told of his friend Lazarus" failing health and Jesus proceeds to find Lazarus dead and Jesus brings him back from the dead (Lk 19.19). Jesus then arrives at the temple in Jerusalem and throws out the money changers (Lk 19.45). Jesus preaches at the temple and then gives a prophecy that the temple will be destroyed and he leaves never to return to the temple. The Sanhedrin meets and decides that they must question Jesus. Jesus and his disciples eat at the Last Supper (22.14) and Judas leaves abruptly to go get the chief priests and the temple guards. The temple guards come and arrest Jesus at the Garden of Gethsemane and take him to the chief priest's house to be questioned. Jesus confesses that he is the messiah and the Sanhedrin condemns him. Judas then hangs himself from a tree ( The Sanhedrin hand over Jesus to Pontius Pilate where he is flogged, adorned with the crown of thorns and is crucified. Joseph of Arimathea pays for Jesus" burial tomb and Jesus is taken there after his death.
