Space-time

This article states the differences of space and time. Time is a specific period when something occurs. Space occurs all around you, but there is time involved, too, so they call this space-time. As you travel into space, it seems like time is slower in space because your space shuttle is traveling at a very fast speed. Time also seems slower than people on ground level when you are at a higher altitude. This article also tells you how the earth orbits around the sun and spin on its axis. As the earth is spinning, we are moving in space-time, but we don't really feel that we are actually moving. If you place a book on a table, it is actually moving. You cannot move backwards in time, but you can in space. So, everything is in constant space-time.

This article relates to this unit in a way that the distance we traveled is considered in space-time because we are moving to get to somewhere. Displacement is also in space-time because even with a displacement of zero, you are coming back to the same place, but at a different time. With motion, you are traveling in space-time to a different location. With motion, you may feel where there is time moving slow because you are traveling at a faster rate. On the other hand, you may feel that time is moving fast because, in reality, you are traveling at a very slow rate. So, space-time depends on the person's point of view. So, this article relates to this unit because we are learning about motion, and space-time is dealing with motion because motion travels in space-time. This article also relates to this unit with special relativity because Einstein came up with a theory of time and space. Space-time also relates to time dilation.
