Germany's Economy in the 1920's and 30's

" This quote became the slogan of workers appealing to their city officials in Manchester, England in 1932. Shortly after, this saying also became the motive for the government to intervene with the current economic situation and attempt to bring about change to the crisis that was spreading throughout the world. While these particular events took place in Great Britain, the attitude of the working class and the reaction of the government too them was similar all over the world. Germany was no exception to this scenario. In some countries the government had been at least fairly successful in their attempts to counteract the ever-worsening economy. In other countries they failed miserably and their actions only made things worse. In Germany, the government buckled under the pressure, and through a number of horrible decisions, made their country a trillion times worse off than they had been only nine years before. As unemployment soared and the value of the German mark plummeted, it was only a matter of time before someone, no matter how radical they were, came to power based on their promises to once again provide for the German people the necessities of life. In the 1920's and 30's, Germany was hit hard by economic turmoil that would lead to a series of events that would eventually leave the country under the rule of an oppressive dictator and on the brink of war. .
World War I started in 1914. At that time, citizens of every country were filled with nationalistic pride for their homeland. As war broke out, government action was supported thoroughly by its country's citizens. Each side felt confident in their abilities and just in their ambitions. With mobilization and the production on new weapons, many countries found themselves in a time where the economy was stable and unemployment rates were low. .
In 1914, as mentioned above, most countries could rate their current economy as strong.
