Weight Training Paper


            
             I have learned a lot in weight training class. I have learned proper ways to use the equipment. I have also learned how to build muscle, like lifting weights. Building muscle is very good for your body. Strength training helps build muscle and strength. I have made a lot of progress in the class. My max in about everything has gone up greatly. I am a lot stronger now, and I feel a little bit healthier now. Outside of class I haven't really done anything. But I am going to start lifting weights outside of class, and doing sit ups and push ups as well. I want to get on a board in the weight room. So for the rest of the year I am going to be in weight training class and lifting outside of class.
             I have learned various ways to stretch and to make myself more flexible. The sit and reach helps me become more flexible. Stretching is very important before you lift weights. If your stretch before your lift you have a lesser chance of pulling something. Being flexible is very important for playing in any sport. Since I snowboard I need to be flexible so I can do amazing tricks without hurting myself. And when I fall I won't hurt myself. So being flexible is very important to me. Outside of class I haven't really done anything about stretching or being more flexible. I am also start stretching and making myself more flexible outside of class.
             Conditioning also helps me become healthier and fit. Running strengthens my legs and conditions my whole body. Push ups improves my upper body, mainly my chest. Doing push ups will greatly improve your upper body strength. Dynamic stretching doesn't really do anything for me. All it does is increase my heart rate so I can lift better. Dynamic stretching, I think, is supposed to stretch your body out, like stretching. I have also learned that sit ups will help you tone your abdominal region. Sprints help me by improving my strength and my running speed. Ladder movements improve coordination and body strength.
