These needs all fit in with what Mrs Sandhu said she enjoyed about the job. The things Mrs Sandhu enjoys at her job keeps her happy which would keep her at that job. This interview shows what Mrs Sandhu enjoys about the job and in this very small sample it proves that Maslows theory would work for my interviewee in that she is more motivated by other things than money.
Comparisons.
I have interviewed a member of The Walsall Primary Care Trust and I am now going to compare the information I have found to another interviewee Steve Harris. (See appendix .).
I believe that Mrs Sandhu does not rank money as a high factor as she is not the only provider. This is disagreeing with Frederick Winslow Taylor's theory that everyone is motivated by money (see appendix.) Mr Harris is more motivated by money as he may be the sole provider or her jus would prefer to have more money than more enjoyment.
In my opinion I think that social aspects of the job would only seem to benefit younger employees, Mrs Sandhu is in her 50's and Mr Harris is in his early 30's is you could say that Mrs Sandhu is much older and would have a family life and Mr Harris ranks it as a low ranking so he must not look for it either.
Mr Harris ranks promotion aspects as very low, this might be due to that he preferred manual work and wouldn't be too concerned with the promotion aspects. Mrs Sandhu ranks it half way, might be due to she prefers managing which is a senior position and if looking for job she would want to be in a senior position in that job as that's what she prefers.
Both Mrs Sandhu and Mr Harris agree that job title not influential when looking for a job. This could be due to the fact that Mrs Sandhu prefers to enjoy work more and Mr Harris prefers to do manual work and doesn't really need a job title.
Mrs Sandhu and Mr Harris both agree that job security is a big issue when looking for a job.
