             In the middle of the movie is where you can start to see Jules mother start to change. The second time Jess" goes over to Jules house the two girls are fighting over their football coach and how they both have feeling her him. Meanwhile her mother listens to their conversation, and thinks her daughter is a lesbian and she broke up with Jess". Jules mother remains in shock and starts to cry to her husband that their daughter was upset. Jules mother explains how she is displeased at Jess" for breaking her little girl's heart. While later on in the movie, Jules mother comes to reality and decides that she is alright with her daughter being a lesbian, and there is nothing wrong with it. She then decides to take an interest in football because she knew if she did not she would loose her daughter. Her husband was the one who was began teaching her all the offside rules of football with condiments. Jules sees her sitting outside on the table doing this and thinks it is kind of weird that she changed her mind. While her mother still tolerates her daughter being a lesbian, and she starts to supports her daughter at playing football by attending her games. While later on at one of Jules football games, Jules mother sees the girls holding hands and hugging and gets really disturb. She then walks over to the girls and yells, "It is the football." Saying that because of football is the reason why Jules is a lesbian. Then Jules mother decides that it is wrong of her daughter to be a lesbian and thinks that if she never played football she would have never been this way. .
             Then towards the end of the movie, is where Jess" sister gets married. Jules gets dressed up and starts to head out the door to the wedding, when her mother says she can drive her there. When they arrive to the wedding, Jules gets out of the car and runs up to Jess" and gave her a big hug. Meanwhile, Jules mother sees this and storms out of the car and goes up to Jess" and yells, "How can you be such a hypocrite?" She says she is acting respectful here in front of her family when the mother knows Jess has been kissing her daughter.
