             In morality class, we have discussed the effects of having sex before marriage. If the decision is made to have sex before marriage there are so many consequences of this action. It is important to be careful and understand all the issues that come with premarital sex. Teen pregnancy is definitely an issue in today's society. Not only does a pregnancy affect the individuals who made this baby it also affects their family and friends. We have also discussed sex within marriage and how the Catholic Church teaches against abortion and birth control. However, birth control may be used under certain circumstances. Overall, the discussions in class have been very informative and interesting. .
             Society defines sexual relationships through television, media, and other public communications. Nowadays society views premarital sex as the norm and something that should not necessarily be taken to an extreme seriousness. Although, there are articles in magazines that inform their readers of the dangers of having sex without protection or having sex before marriage the main opinion today is that sex before marriage is ok and very much acceptable. One could even argue that our society promotes sex before marriage. For example, on the television show "Friends" it would be safe to say that on the television series everyone has slept with one another. Shows like such are entertaining but morally acceptable, not necessarily. "Friends" is not a show to teach its viewers how to become a morally good person it is a show to entertain people and in fact it does seem to entertain many people. I am not saying that watching this show is bad; all I am saying is that society is engraving upon us values that are not necessarily good ones.
             In my personal opinion, I believe that premarital sex is a big issue today and that it should not have become a big issue. I also believe that sex should only come within the sacrament of marriage.
