DBQ Chesapeake vs. New England

The first main difference between the New England and the Chesapeake regions are the geographic locations. The New England region has a colder climate, which helps defend against diseases. The Chesapeake region in contrast has a warmer climate, and along with lakes, ponds etc. it actually attracts mosquitoes and other insects which help spread diseases. As you can see from Document B, the New England region had larger families, an average of 6 kids per family eve. Even before coming to the Americas they were already rich, meaning they had servants and everything to help them with chores. They brought their whole families because they came here to stay. Now the Chesapeake region had smaller families because more men than women came at once. They didn't really have any professional jobs as they were coming here to search for gold and then go back to England. .
The north regions were very, very religious. Everyone had to be converted into their religion, Christianity, or they would be banished. At the beginning they were trying to establish a community that would work together to be seen good in the eyes of the other cities and in the eyes of God. Later on, when money began to make a difference, they started to back away from God and more towards making money. Like Document E explains, they had to regulate prices and wages because people were cheating other people from their money, and not thinking about God. The south regions were not as religious, even though they had of course their own religion, Anglican. The south though was more greedy, like the document about Bacon's Rebellion relates to, explaining how the government has used the wealth of the country.
Because the north already had their servants, and a lot of children, they didn't need any servants to work in the farms. Their servants and themselves worked on the farms, while the wives did the house chores and took care of some animals.
