Scarlet letter

The movie and book Scarlet Letter have both differences and similarities. This made each better and worse in some ways. Personally I thought the book was a lot better. With the book you can use your imagination. With the movie you already have everything right there in front of you. The movie was boring and didn't have a lot of creativity. Meaning everything seemed dull. For example the setting. It just seemed boring. The movie just wasn't fun to watch. Reading the book made me build the movie up too much and I expected a lot more!.
In the book Hester and Pearl lived in a house outside of town. In the movie they did also, but they lived by a lake in it. In the book it built up Hester and Pearl to be beautiful. Granite they are just actors, but they weren't that good looking in the movie. Both the movie and book explain how horrible the letter "A" is. In the movie it allows Hester to do different things with it. Like she can see other people's sins.
The book makes it seem like Hester and Pearl hate each other and have a horrible relationship. In the movie they both act like they love each other very much. They are also always hugging, holding hands, showing some kind of affection for one another.
Both show how great of a sewer Hester is. The only difference is, is in the movie the towns people don't only want Hester to sew for them, but they also want Pearl too. Who also has great skills like her mother. They both also show what a little brat Pearl is. She is still a devil child as told in the book. Pearl is attempted to be taken away in both, but in the movie is shows some lady coming and telling Hester the governor is going to take Pearl away. In the book no one comes and warns Hester about it. The governor's sister is also a witch in both. .
Pearl does not shut up in either about the letter "A". She always asks her mother what it means. She wants to know why her mom has to wear the Scarlet Letter and why Reverend Dimmesdale holds his hand over his chest.
