Se7en movie review

Se7en is the movie that start as a regular detective movie or buddy-movie but turns out to be the movie about two, in character, very different policemen trying to find out the what the motive and what the next horrific kill will be of a genial serial killer with a mission. Se7en is the movie that is starring four major Hollywood stars being; Morgan Freeman as detective William Somerset, Brad Pitt as detective David Mills, Kevin Spacey as John Doe and last but not least Gwyneth Paltrow as Tracy Mills.
In se7en, detective Somerset and detective Mills investigate a number of murders that, at first seem to be unrelated but turn out to be the word of just one, crazy and dangerous killer. The killer has a mission; he is killing for a reason. John Doe, the killer, is punishing seven representatives of the seven deadly sins; gluttony, greed, sloth, envy, wrath and pride by using their own sins against them. Despite the antipathy Mills and Somerset have for each other and the huge differences between the two characters, they need to work together to solve the mystery of the horrific murders.
Somerset: "We have to divorce ourselves from emotion." .
Mills: "Man, I feed off my emotions." .
The power of the scenes is immense. In Se7en, you never see the murder actually take place. On the other hand, some scenes are graphically explicit an implicate fear. Despite this, the fear is not the thing that makes the scenes have the power they have. The things that make the scenes have an immense power are the lightning (there is hardly any), music and, caused by that, your own thoughts. The darkness, rain, silence, noise, photographs and the dialogues between Freeman and Pitt, make you feel as if you are inside the movie, chasing a nutcase that is far smarter than you are and that you know off, you will never catch before he finished his mission of killing seven representatives of the seven deadly sins.
Especially the feeling of the fact that the killer cannot be caught is building op the tension in Se7en.
