An immature love would best be exemplified by a person's own selfish needs. People often dream of true love that is best described as being "written in the stars-. They believe that their fate has fixed them a true, mature love: showing care, responsibility, and respect while always being concerned for the good of the other person. For Catherine and Heathcliff, however, their love could be fixed by fate, but it is obvious that they are a product of the world around them. Both of them are isolated and are around each other every waking moment. They become addicted to having each other around constantly. Reviewing the different aspects of their unique love will show overwhelming evidence proving their love to be immature - it appears that Catherine and Heathcliff share a love that is addictive because it is circumstantial. .
For Catherine and Heathcliff, the lack of structure in their lives gives them room to rebel and become closer to each other, which ultimately leads them to an addictive relationship. Parents are key figures in any family, because the ideal parent is one that is with their child/children, loves them, and helps them grow to be a good person. Mr. Earnshaw is a loving husband and parent. Although he does not quite always understand Catherine, he loves her nonetheless. Heathcliff is an orphan, when Mr. Earnshaw finds him on the streets. His physical appearance makes the reader believe that Heathcliff has been by himself for some time. Nothing is known about Heathcliff before he comes to live at Wuthering Heights no one even knows when his birthday is! After Heathcliff spends some time at the Heights, Mr. Earnshaw begins to treat him as his [Earnshaw's] favorite child. Hindley does not care for Heathcliff at all, so Catherine befriends Heathcliff and they soon are inseparable; they spend their time doing nothing on the moors. Mr. Earnshaw holds the family together, being the loving patriarch and all.
